i met the most amazing, inspirational, and motivating people on April 13th, 2011. it was truly a humbling experience to be around leaders who would not hesitate to make a joke with you and ask for your opinion and insight on different issues. furthermore, to be around those students whom we were fighting for, the students that showed us the meaning behind perseverance, hard-work, and the ability to wear a smile despite the struggles and difficulties thrown at them. there was a moment when Assemblymember Felipe Fuentes asked the committee and attendees, “All those in support of the bill please rise,” and i was able to stand up with this crowd of people who have put almost their entire beings into making this DREAM (pun intended) come true. i felt for a day as if i had a new family, new friends whom i could speak my mind with, fight with, and confide in. THESE ARE THE REVOLUTIONARIES OF TODAY, and I thank God for giving me the blessing and opportunity to have been able to fight alongside this wonderful group of people.
